Homestay

Homestay accommodation is facilitated by the field school and managed by the homestay coordinator. Students stay with local families in Trim. The host families have been welcoming students for many years. All students have their own bedrooms, and all homes have wifi. Living with families allows students to be immersed in Irish life and culture, and provides a secure base from which to explore Ireland, and even further afield.

The accommodation is within walking distance of the site and all meals, including a packed lunch, are provided. From previous experience this has proved to be the preferred option and many of our past students have stayed in contact with and even returned to visit their host families.

*Please note a surplus charge may be added for special dietary requirements.

My name is Irene Heffernan and I look forward to finding you a suitable home to stay during your time in Trim and on the Blackfriary dig.

I am a secondary school teacher by profession and my family have a local business in the town for over 50 years. I’ve been matching people with homes in Trim for a number of years now and because of that I have wonderful families on my books who love having students stay with them.
